Introduction to the Hong Kong Postgraduate Education Site
The Shanghai University of Finance & Economics (SUFE) Postgraduate Education Site at Hong Kong was a joint initiative between SUFE and Hong Kong Financial Services Institute (HKFSI) to afford more opportunities to ambitious learners in Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan to learn and understand the modern finance systems, acquaint themselves with economic, financial, and taxation policies in mainland, and to boost economic and cultural exchanges & cooperation between the three regions and mainland China. It also makes it possible for learners to further theirs studies while employed.
In 2002, the Ministry of Education PRC granted its sanction to SUFE to set up a postgraduate education site in HKFSI, enrolling master and doctor candidates in finance and accounting as well as candidates of masters of business administration (MBA). The education site turned to be the first endorsed initiative of a mainland university to operate a Hong Kong based postgraduate education site.
In 2004, the Ministry approved the move of the education site to enroll enterprise management doctor candidates and candidates of EMBA (executive MBA).
All of the above degree programs have been ratified by the Hong Kong SAR Education and Manpower Bureau.
The following degree programs are offered at the education site:

Tailor-made by SUFE for professionals from Hong Kong, Macao, or Taiwan, these programs offer opportunities to explore latest issues at the center stage of finance and systematically learn and understand theories & methods of modern economics, finance, and management, in addition to plentiful cases for discussion. They are expected to broaden learners’ horizon, allowing them to acquire extended insights into economies, finance, regulations, and corporate cultures in mainland and Hong Kong, and against the backdrop of China’s accession to WTO, eventually adapt them to changed demands for management from the market and improve competitive edges of corporations and individuals in the three regions and mainland China.
